Wandsworth "Wandsworth" is an adaptation of a Morris & Company "Hammersmith" rug from the late 19th century. The "Wandsworth" rugs differ from Morris's coarsely knotted "Hammersmith" originals in their finer wool quality and tighter number of tufts per inch, which has permitted the design to be suitably scaled for the smaller rug sizes. The spool Axminster loom allows for a subtlety in coloring that achieves the beauty of hand-knotted carpets, and the designers for this product worked with the William Morris Gallery in Wathamstow, England, on matching Morris's original colors to ensure the accuracy of the reproduction. The coordinating "Wandsworth" runner is woven on a gripper Axminster loom with similar yarn colors. Stock on most sizes is available in the United States making a four to six week delivery schedule possible. Available with a blue background or a red-orange background. 5'7" x 8' = $ 1142.00 Runners: Massachusetts residents please add 5% state sales tax. Please check on stock availability, and if any additional shipping charges may apply. |
